Helene Bender OAM - Chair Helene Bender is a Director of Pendent Pty Ltd, trading as Allabout Tours & Travel, a leisure and corporate travel agency Geelong-owned and operated since 1977. Helene has held many roles in the community throughout her career. In 2006, Helene was honoured with an Order of Australia Medal for her services to the community. Among her current roles in the community are as Chair of the Barwon Health Foundation, Joint Deputy Chair of the Committee for Geelong, Ambassador of the Anam Cara House Community Hospice Project, Member of the Geelong Grammar School Council and Chair of Geelong Football Club’s Nine Lives Committee. Ray moved to Geelong 1981 and started a successful Office Equipment business, then opened Chilwell Office Supplies in Newtown with his wife Irene in 1989 He is a member of the Rotary Club of Belmont and was named a Paul Harris Fellow for services to the Community. A sponsor The Geelong Cricket Club, The Geelong Falcons, The Geelong Cats Sports Foundation and numerous schools and charities in the Geelong area, Ray and Irene are enthusiastic supporters and involved citizens of their community. He is a Member of the Geelong Football Club' Pivots Club. Andrew Bell Andrew Bell is Director and part owner of the Bell Group of Companies which comprises Bell Potter Securities, Bell Asset Management, Bell Commodities Corp. Ltd, FS Falkiner Pty Ltd and the Burrabogie Pastoral Company. Bell Commodities Corp. Ltd is the major shareholder in Bell Financial Group Limited, which recently listed on the ASX. Andrew has held these positions since 1978. Andrew manages the Geelong Cats Sports Foundation investment portfolio. Brian Cook Brian Cook is now in his tenth year as Chief Executive of the Geelong Football Club, after holding a similar position for over nine years with the West Coast Eagles in the Australian Football League (AFL). Brian also has extensive experience in the sports research area where he was employed in 1985 as a full time consultant for the Australian Sports Commission. Prior to his appointment in Canberra, Brian was a full time sports consultant for five years with the Department of Sport and Recreation in Perth, Western Australia. Over the past decade Brian has also contributed to the development of the general sports community being appointed as either a Chairman or Director of various sport advisory organisations.
Brian was awarded the Eunice Gill Award in 1994 for services to coaching at a national level by the Australian Coaching Council, and in 2001 received an Australian Sports Medal from the Prime Minister. Robert (Bob) Gartland Bob Gartland is the Principal and Director of Gartland Real Estate Pty Ltd, a Geelong based Real Estate company which currently manages a portfolio of property in excess of $280 million, and a Director of Gartland Media Services Pty Ltd. Bob has been involved in various community based Boards and Committees and is currently a Director of the Geelong Football Club, Ambassador of the Anam Cara House Community Hospice Project, and a former Deputy Chair of the Central Geelong Management Committee. Graeme Giddings is Managing Director of Owners Corporation (Aust) Pty Ltd, and Grales Pty Ltd trading as Bodycorp (Aust), He has operated a successful Bodies Corporate business in Melbourne, Geelong and Country Victoria for the past 14 years. Previous occupations include Banking 22 Years, and Interior Decorating (10yrs) . Graeme is heavily involved with Charities which include, Director of Variety, the Children's Charity. He and his wife, Lesley, received an International Presidential Award for services to Variety in 2006. Graeme is also a Director of Caitlin’s Retreat, a Children’s Respite centre being built in Eltham as part of the People and Parks Foundation. Graeme is also a keen GFC Wags member. Ron Hosking is the owner of the Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) franchise in the Geelong area, some KFC franchises in Melbourne and is President of KFC Australian Franchisee Association. Ron is also the owner of the Pizza Hut franchise in Geelong and Werribee. Ron is a past player of Geelong Football Club, and past President of the St Mary’s Football Club. Robert Merriman (Bob) was made a member of the Order of Australia for his service to cricket as an administrator with Cricket Australia, Cricket Victoria and the Victorian Country Cricket League. During his time with the Ford Motor Company of Australia from 1953-1980, Bob established himself as a leading advocate and representative of Labour Relations.Bob was appointed to the Conciliation & Arbitration Commission from 1980-2000.
Bob has previously held Directorships with Cricket Victoria, Cricket Australia and the International Cricket Council, and held the position of Chairman of Cricket Australia from 2001 – 2005. He was also a Trustee of the Melbourne Cricket Ground 1996 – 1999. Bob has also held the role of Chairman on various councils including Victorian Building Industry Consultative Council (current), Victorian Electrical Industry Dispute Board, WBB Enterprises Pty Ltd Industrial Consultants and the Victorian Building Industry Disputes Panel. Jason has a Bachelor of Commerce with Majors in Marketing and International Business. He is a Director and General Manager of final5 Staff Shortlisting, a recruitment firm based in Melbourne. Jason is a former player for the Geelong Football Club starting in 1996 and having to retire due to injury in 2002. Jason is a Board member of a Not for Profit “Wind of Change International” who have recently opened an orphanage in Nepal.
